Today I'm representing all your fans. General audience... I have taken their feedback and opinion.
Both positives and negatives. I'm going to ask you questions now.
Based on what people are expecting So... Let's start with the trailer.
Trailer received an extraordinary response. It touched one of the biggest numbers... online.
And a lot of people appreciated too. They appreciated the scale.
They appreciated everything. But some people...
Well some considerate amount of people... They are asking if there is another trailer to be released.
When asked why, they said this trailer was good and had a lot of kick to it. It gave them a high.
But this one doesn't reveal the story. What is the story. The scenes in the trailer don't have much connectivity.
But we like it. We will watch the movie for sure. But we are unable to figure out the story.
This is a continuous feedback that I'm getting.
First Puri sir, what do you want to say on this. I edited a trailer first.
The is a fully loaded commercial film. It runs on an adrenaline rush.
We cut only those moments in the trailer. Point number two is that...
Lot of people expected more dialogues in it. And the hero's character stammers in the film.
So it wasn't good if I put many stammering dialogues. I really tried to make a couple of versions of it.
They were not impressive. That's one of the reasons. Even if the dialogues don't speak...
But the trailer says a lot. A tea seller. Both the son and his mother are running in a rickshaw.
They are selling tea. He is fighting in some arena. He is going international.
All these elements hint the story. But the story is very rooted.
A young man from Karimnagar. -Yes! -He along with his mother go to Mumbai.
What did they do there? A mother's dream to see her son as a National champion.
How did the son struggle to make her dream come true. To what extent he struggled. -This is the story. -Nice... nice.
Okay. And you revealed Mike Tyson for the first time in the trailer.
Everyone was waiting for Mike Tyson because... We shot with Mike Tyson... I mean you guys shot with Mike Tyson.
And all the fans liked the fact that Mike Tyson is a part of Liger.
It's Mike Tyson's first Asian movie ever. Okay, it's a very big achievement that Liger team has achived.
But in the trailer, Mike Tyson is like... We usually expect him to be brutal.
That's the image we have of Mike Tyson. He's brutal, he's very... violent and all of that.
But you have showed Mike Tyson as a very jovial person. Clad in a cowboy comstume, smiling... very jovial.
What do you want us as audience... How do you want us to take that?
Attack! Hey! [stammering] I'm a fighter!
If you are a fighter, what am I? Take it as you see it. Don't fix on something and watch the film.
So have you given Mike Tyson a new look? -Yeah, definitely a new look. -OK. So we can expect that you have given Mike Tyson a new look.
And there is another thing. The climax in this film reveals a new situation.
A situation which we have not seen in any films till now.
Reecently I liked the climax of film Pushpa a lot. The hero and villain are sitting and talking peacefully.
Happily together. It was new. There was no fight. It was a new situation.
In our film, the situation that arises between Mike Tyson is new. -It's not shown in any film. -OK.
You can understand that once you watch the film. OK, OK fine. When there are huge expectations and excitement beyond bounds...
People want to see everything first itself. But we can't spoil their experience of watching it in the theatre.
What is the job of a trailer? This film is about to release, so come watch in the theatres.
A trailer is not made to reveal the story. Trailers and teasers were started... ...to excite people about a film thats to be released and get them to theatres.
If you are excited, the trailer's job is done. And the job of a trailer not to tell story, actually.
It's never it's job. Its only to excite you to bring you to theater. The story is shown in the theatre. And I think trailers are being made in a format.
Any trailer is made in a particular format. To break that format...
When Liger becomes a huge success and people start talking about the marketing campaign
You'll see a lot of trailers cut in this style. Everytime something new comes out, not everyone can digest it or take it.
It seems a bit different if it's not in the regular format.
But I think it's the most intelligent thing Puri sir did. Yes.
And also, what he was telling about stammering we realized was... Because of the stammering, only the entire scene should be shown.
[Charmi]: Correct. Because I take so much time to finish. I take ten seconds to say the words 'I love you' in the film.
So only the whole scene can explain the context. It can't be shown in the form of a small punchline.
[stammering]
I... I... love... you! So due to that, we took this format...
And later we saw even international films like Black Panther... And all cutting after us.
-It released after our trailer. -Yes. Even they edited it exactly like we did. But the emotions connect.
If the world is excited, which means we did it. It sure is. This is the highest viewed trailer.
It turned out to be the highest viewed trailer in the nation. And the love that we are getting wherever we go...
After the trailer release, the way people look at me in the nation has changed.
Which means the trailer's impact was on them. So that is just the job of the trailer. -So no more debates. -The trailer has done its job.
Correct... correct. Nice. In Liger, you choose to have multiple music directors.
And you worked with many of them. How did you think of something like this? And why did you take this decision?
And how do you think this went? I'm doing this for the first time. It's a fresh attempt.
Azeem is the music supervisor. What does music supervisor mean? He listens to our story...
Whatever best songs I want... He understands everything and engages different music composers
He collects the tunes and gives me. [Charmi]: OK. -So it gives me many fresh options. -It gives a lot of options.
-That is how we design all songs. -OK. Each and every song was handled by a different composer.
Yes. -And background score is different. -Yes, correct. So do you like this blend?
-Did you like this technique? -Yes of course! So do you think you can follow this in future also?
Yeah, happily. -Happily. -We can do it happily. OK, nice. In South...
We have a habit of the same composer giving all tunes and the background score. Correct. But in Mumbai, background score is done separately and not by the music director.
Correct... correct. -So we follow the style and culture there. -OK
You put this song 'attack' in your trailer. It's a big hit.
Would you put a full song of the same in YouTube? We will.
-Because a lot of people... -Because a lot of people... -Are looking for it but can't get it. -They are asking for the full song.
-They google for it. -Correct. Even the YouTubers abroad are checking 'Where is attack? Find out, open spotify'.
-Correct. -They can't find it. We didn't release it early because it's in the trailer. So we can expect the 'attack' song too.
Yeah! It would be out before release. Its a kick-ass song. OK. Fantastic. Hey!
"Attack!"
Stay away from my life! Get up you!
Puri sir... You have an image that you finish a film in six months.
And all those films become blockbusters. For liger, you completed it's first schedule in January 2020.
-Later of course the pandemic kicked in. -Yes. But still -Liger is a three year project. -Correct.
How did you feel these three years? And in future, are you going to be doing six months eight months projects...
Or are you going to take your own time? And what what is your comment on this whole new thing?
I decided that my films before pandemic and after pandemic would be different.
Liger is the first movie. -Consider it my second innings. -Second innings.
Consider Liger as my first movie. I would put my full effort for all my next films...
Take enough time... whatever it takes. I want to happily make films Nice.
So you want to make every movie like it's a lifetime movie. Yes. Let me make just ten films in life.
-So no more quick fix. -No. I'm very happy to be starting your second innings.
Second innings with Liger. And there's JGM. I'm so happy that your second innings debut is with me.
And then he is again doing the second one JGM. And JGM is going to be on a huge scale.
I've done a lot of experiments in life to finish projects fast. I'm done. Now whatever I do, I'll do with care.
A lot of people ask me why I'm doing films with Puri sir back to back.
Since I was young, I mean teenage. Since I wanted to grow very successful.
In order to make some epic thing in life, I have to do some big stuff. I was living with that mindeset.
I didn't know how would I do it and with whom but I have to make it big. Should be an epic thing.
And when i met Puri sir, I couls relate to it. He thinks the same.
One has to do it big in whatever he does so that one can remember that in life.
So he is on a space of that second innings. So I tell everyone that he is my 'Do epic thing' partner
And thats why we are making films back to back. Definitely fans are expecting liger is going to be one epic thing...
Or whatever you call it. -And JGM will be another one. -Yeah. Fans are expecting JGM to be much much bigger.
Its pure madness. We work with a lot of madness. Its evident. Two mad people came together.
So we have to watch now. Okay so... Vijay coming to you. Are you very active on social media?
Do you handle your own social media? Do you look into people's concern... positives, negatives...
Their feedbacks coming to you... Are you in your own world, or are you into this?
How is it? Well, originally I didn't want to be on social media.
But, if I have to have a connect with the audience, this is my only way. There is no other way.
For me, why I am doing films in the industry... And people recognize me, its just their love.
They are my backgorund, my support, my strength and everything. Because of their love, I am who I am. Otherwise there is nobody for me.
So I realised that when they love me so much, I have to be in touch with them.
But at the same time, the amount of work I do... If I'm working on a film, that becomes my life.
So I don't find time for these as its a distraction. So I don't want these aps to be on my phone.
My friends handle it. I don't have those apps on my phone and I don't check them. But, everything that goes out on my social media is completely me.
Its me talking to my people. To my rowdies as I call them, or to people who like me.
So whatever I post on it, it's from me. So when your fans comment on your posts, how do you think they will reach you?
My team keep sending me links of general stuff. You sent me some stuff.
My friends who handle my social media send me. And I take them very seriously.
People's opinion matters to me.
If I feel something is genuinely constructive... They need this, they feel this, or they need something else...
Then I plan my marketing accodringly. I'll tell my teams, I'll talk to you. And I'll say this is their mood, we need to talk to them and address something.
If someone said the trailer is like a music video, so they need a new one...
I didn't feel so. I listen to everything and take decisions on what is corrrect.
For me, its very important how they are feeling and why.
But I don't have the apps on my phone. I will know when someone sends something. Puri sir, you are known to give looks to your heroes.
We go back from Deshamuduru or Temper or whatever.
And now again your hero is in that shape.
How did this happen? How did you think...
No one has shown their lowers... And its a very gutsy thing to wear those shorts.
And literally stand out naked holding that flag. So you are communicating story with that flag.
You are communicating your heroism. But then he is almost half naked. How did this thing happen between you and him?
How did he transform himself? What what actually went there?
Actually... When I first told him the story and about his looks...
He worked out for that character, he grew long hair.
He had guts to show even his lower. No one shows their lower.
Correct One needs to be gutsy to do that. So the entire credit goes to him, not me.
And... I showed a video in his lowers to a friend.
-Wearing a small short. -My friend saw that. He said 'He is really a gutsy person, Bro. No one did this earlier.'
I told him our hero can even remove that for a film if required. I was just kidding.
And then the roses photo showed up. I thought he just turned my words into reality!
So do you strongly feel that Vijay is capable of doing anything? Yes, anything.
I decided when I wanted to become an actor that I have to do anything for the film.
And when Puri sir narrated the story to me... I heard the story and I saw him with this body and hair.
I follow MMA a lot. Its one of my favourite sports. -I know how they look. -You were very lean then.
I was lean. I've never been like this, my whole body changed for this. But Puri sir told me...
I need you to definitely build... But if I grew my arm muscles a bit, he could manage.
He said let's bag it. I was like, 'No, I need time'. I wanted to do it in beast mode, wild...
Because the story demanded it. It was an awesome story, he penned it so well.
If because of my laziness, I build a just decent body, it won't be great.
If the content is at peaks, I should take it to the next level. I liked something you told me.
If I don't do such things in this age, when can I?
I remember he said that "This age won't come back, this story won't come back" -"This character won't come back" -Yeah, when else?
"This fire won't come back." Hit it always, all out.
Yeah, nice. Puri sir... in your career...
You have worked with multiple heroes. You have repeated the combinations. You have a habit of working with the same hero again.
And now you are doing the same. You are working with Vijay in Liger. And then you have JGM.
How confident are you about this combination? What is your opinion on this combination and where do you see this going?
Its a rocking combination. A combination which I want to work in again and again. And I love to work with him again and again.
Nice. I get so much engaged when I'm shooting with him. Vijay let's come to your body transformation.
Whatever you built, your body... Definitely there's a lot of hard work behind it.
Your fans and the audience understand it. But we want to know in more depth...
About your emotions. What you went through... dos and donts of body transformation.
Your bad days with it. And how has it affected you positively, negatively... whatever.
I think After watching this film, Many people would be inspired towards physical transformation.
Lot of them would will hit gyms they'll start working out to build their physique.
Which is a good thing. But what everyone should know is... It was the first time for me too.
When I heard the story, I asked Puri sir and Charrme for two months of time. Give me two months off.
I'd eat well, I know I'm disciplined. I thought I'd build a solid body in two months.
After two months... How much ever healthy food I ate and workout I did...
The body didn't happen because we keep seeing these 60 month transformation videos
And I don't think it's possible in life for me, it was not possible at all. It took me almost like one and a half year of eating clean and working out every day
Which includes pandemic. Which included the pandemic, no break... I was super disciplined... I quit alcohol and sugar.
I worked with a level of commitment and I got this physique after one and half year. So it will take discipline.
You just have to think of it, at some time like after six months... I was still not happy.
I had this image in mind, I couldn't get there. I had asked them to start with shots that don't show my body.
I want more time I would keep asking for more time... Because I was still not happy with how I was.
So it's a lot of discipline. My only mistake was...
As an actor, we have timelines, we got to push ourselves. As an actor, I wanted to look like a body builder.
But you need to move like a fighter. So what I was doing was working out like four hours a day.
Weight training and indeed very heavyweight training I was doing. Because I needed to bulk up
And immediately I was doing one and a half hour of fight training. So normally that is not a good combination.
When you lift very heavy weights body becomes tight. Then if you perfrom kicks and spin kicks...
The pressure diverts to other muscles and spine too. With that I picked up an injury.
Which is taking me back. Actually, we wanted to start JGM immediately after Liger.
Puri sir was ready, everything was ready. Because my body wasn't cooperating, we started off late.
I was like I wanted to act in a relaxed film between. Which is not taxing on my body.
I had to do Kushi and then come back to JGM. So I think when you do it, eating right is 50 to 60 percent of the job.
Discipline and training are must. But recovery is also very important. I worked out without giving a day off to my body.
If you workout, you should also recover, sleep well. These things are proper. Mobility, etc.
These are bigger conversations that I'll have another day. But do it carefully. Give your body time to recover.
Don't do some of the mistakes I did. Did you get any tips from Mike Tyson regarding the same?
The thing I realised is that Tyson eats a lot of food. But I realised something.
What we planned in the first day shoot... We shall start by 9am and if Tyson can join by 12pm, we shall shoot with him.
We planned the schedule like that. Because he was aged, he was a star too.
-He sometimes came by 8am... -Six! He would come off so much before us to set.
Then we had to hurry. So we changed all our schedules. One day when I was talking to Tyson...
He was saying that he wakes up everyday at 4am, does his workout. And the come to shoot.
I was like if he is so disciplined towards his workout at this age, That is something I should learn.
He said there not a single day in his life... ...when he has not woken up at 4am and has not worked out.
So when I asked him... Mike, there definitely are days when you are injured.
Or you are unwell. He said nothing matters. He said, if he is tired or was in ill health... whatever.
Even in case of broken bones or feet, he will limp to the gym. Everyday he still works out.
Yeah, that is something. Though I can't wake up at 4am. We can learn to maintain that discipline in life.
So we can see Ramya Krishna madam as a very strong and impactful lady.
And she kicks you in the trailer. Everyone likes that scene.
There were a lot of comments on how strong a mother she was. But Puri sir, such a strong character...
You give a lot of value to a mother in every film of yours. In this film, the mother, though she has a negative shade is strong.
We could understand that from the trailer. She kicks, is rough. How did you design such a strong character and I want to know about Ramya in live.
Ramya's character in this is very strong. When you Ramya, you feel she is an ideal mother.
Or you feel all mothers should be like her. She is a very positive and motivated mother.
She always wants to see her son doing better. -Does she scold him a lot? -She does. Well only if he commits a mistake.
-She hits him. -She does. You must hit kids when they commit a mistake in real life too.
Because Ramya Krishna had acted, the character is elevated a lot.
I can't imagine anyone else in that character than Ramya. Because of her acting, the character grew into another range.
When I see them both acting in a single scene, I feel goosebumps.
And this is the first time I'm acting with Ramya Krishna. She is a great actress.
And a woman kicking a hero.
No hero accepts it usually. They ask you to change the scene.
But you fell down like this. By that we can understand that you accepted that completely.
We want to know more about how did you agree on this. When I'm on the sets...
I'm Liger and Ramya is my Mom. My Mom can do anything.
Nothing else matters on sets. Vijay Devarakonda doesn't matter.
It's only that for me she is my mother. And Ananya is the girl I love. And Tyson... whatever relation I have with him.
If there is somebody I dont like, I dont like them. That's what you do on a set. When I was young and in college...
First days of talking to girls... usually on calls in the nights. There were calling offers like 100 minutes free in the nights.
Then my Mom used to scold me very much. She never hit me, because we shared a good relationship.
My mom scolded me and made me sleep. She said I've got to get up early as I had to attend college.
She took my phone, etc. But in Liger, Ramya and her son come from Karimnagar.
They sell tea on roads. That's their life. Ramya is Balamani in this film.
The extent till Balamani loves Liger, She punishes him so violently when he makes a mistake.
That is their lifestyle. Different mother and son relationships are different.
She does it purely out of love. Its tough love actually... A guy like Liger has to be dealth that way.
Else he won't listen. Else he would get rogue. -So he has to be dealt that way. -Nice.
He has to be successful and make his Mom proud. When I told Ramya that she should kick you...
She said "Oh no! That's bad!" I said that's OK. She asked me "Does Vijay know this? Does he?"
I said why wouldn't he know that. I said he was like "Its my mother who is kicking, so that's OK" She asked me many times.
Even at the time of the take, she asked me if she should kick him in real. -Didn't people like it? -Lot of them did.
Both in North and South India. Lot of people liked it. They'd connect to it.
Ali sir acts in most of your films. And he has a special track in your films.
People love that in all your films. There was a gap in between, and now Ali sir is in a role in this film.
Tell us something about it. He doesn't have any track in this but there's a role to play.
There is no comedy track for him like in the earlier films. -His character keeps appearing. -OK.
But in most of my films, he has a role even if the apprearance is on and off.
-He is a close friend of yours. -He is. -Yeah -Yeah... nice. -And we have Getup Seenu... -Vamshi...
And we have Vishu in the film. Who is also associated with you in your company. That's right.
So a lot of bunch of people who are there with our Telugu accents.
Now you have to talk about Ananya. Ananya from 2020 to Ananya from 2022.
A rich girl. A character living in Mumbai. With hero, she is... -I think that would reveal the story. -Yeah.
Tell us... we are waiting. No, let's leave it. Fans are waiting. But when we were working for the last two years.
I noticed many changes in Ananya. She was growing up, she would look different in every three months.
There was a difference in how she looked in the beginning and towards the songs. I told Ananya. You'd be more beautiful in an year, so we'd work in a film then.
She was growing actually. I was asking, would I be in Liger-2 too?
You were writing it. Did I hear Liger-2? Yeah and we were talking about it.
We have to do a sequel. Because characters were very the interesting. The mother character and Liger.
Actually it was Karan who asked to make Liger-2. Yeah. -He said you have to make Liger-2. -Yes.
OK, so this both of your first Pan-India film. To put it formally, it's the first proper Indian film.
Puri sir, a Pan-India film needs to be shot in five languages. Censor in five languages.
Release in five languages. Its a time taking process. And would you recommend this to everyone?
Or would you say we should stick to filming in our own state and language?
Or is Pan-India better? What is your feedback on it? No, that is their personal choice.
Presenting it Pan-India is an option, in a big way. Or if you decide to work in your regional language.
That is good too. But even if you make a small budget film in your regional language too...
If you create it with madness. You need not go for a Pan-india release. Everyone in india will watch it.
Nice. If you can picturize local content with a lot of madness...
-Local will become global. -Nice. The best examples are Narcos, Money heist...
They shot all these films in Spanish and we watched them. I'll give you a best example now.
Arjun Reddy, a Telugu movie. He worked in it. Why people gather wherever Vijay goes is because everyone watched it.
-Local is global. -Nice. And Liger's budget was inflated.
Liger's budget was huge. Usually, you make films fast and in a limited budget for producers.
You have that image. But the budget was very high for this film. -How much was the budget? -Because it's my own film. How much?
How much do you think the budget was? -I don't like to reveal the budget. -Okay.
If I say I have spent 200 rupees. Why was it so much? People discuss this way outside.
If we really spent 5 billion. The buyers won't come to pay us 6 billion,
-thinking we have spent 5 billion. -They won't. They only pay according to the value of that project.
-Then why did you invest such huge budget? -We did it, for the quality. To make it well...
We have the freedom because it's my own film.
We have spent for that reason. And you can watch every penny we spent in the film.
All of you would watch the film, everyone here are experts. You will understand what we have spent on anything once you watch.
I don't have to expose the budget today. I didn't waste a single day.
He never wasted a single scene. Everyone worked hard and every penny we spent will be evident. Nice.
-So, it's worth the money. It gives you... -You will get to know after watching. ...entertainment spent on ticket. Tomorrow it is us who is going to face profit or the loss, right?
-Correct... Correct. -What's the use of telling the budget? -So... -We've made a good film, that's the point.
Yeah, I got it. But, there is complaint that people aren't coming to the theaters.
Box Office numbers are not doing that great. Even the footfalls have decreased.
But both your confidence levels seem huge.
-Be it the budget... -Yeah. You posted a tweet during the lockdown. 'Two hundred is too low, I will make more in theaters.'
-When you got the OTT offer. -Yes, right. For releasing the film Liger in OTTs directly.
So, your budget is high and you are very much confident. What kind of numbers are you expecting from Box Office?
What kind of numbers are you expecting from Box Office? I start the counting from two hundred.
I won't look at the number from there. Not that numbers matter but...
You want... I mean... Somebody told me in my career, When it was hard to get film offers,
When I was thinking if I'd make it to another film. Somebody told me you do your job and the universe will take care of everything.
They told me to do my job correctly and it stuck to me. So, from then I just think I will put my best effort...
...and the rest will happen. I will not leave anything. And in this film not just me,
I saw Mr. Puri, I saw you, I saw Vishnu and Ananya...
-Everybody has given... -Their best. Everything. Like without wasting even one rupee, one day...
Nobody gave less than hundred percent to the film. The choreographer, the cinematographer...
The direction department... So, I feel like the content was strong. Everybody gave everything.
There is literally nothing more I could have done for the film. As an actor... humanly, I've given my all...
I have done everything crossing my capacity. And even increase in the budget too...
I feel like we started and we knew that we had a very good content. When I was watching the first schedule I felt good,
I was like we shouldn't compromise in the next one. The next set should be awesome.
I should fight amazingly. We would watch and edit it and then watch it back.
-I think we were like it's coming so well. -We must rock it internationally. It's been becoming big by every shedule...
And we decided to rope in Tyson, no matter how costly it is. Those foreign fighters...
Fighting in an international fight... Imagine the UFC stadium.
To plan exactly that, we just kept going... ...going all out and today its paying off.
In some way. It wasn't released yet, but... but I strongly believe it's just my belief that that...
That it's going to pay back. And people are going to love it and... Annd that we are going to see something very big.
-...is a belief. -The buzz in the market is that... Non theatrical numbers have closed in huge numbers.
Theatrical numbers and the pre release business... Pre release business is also huge.
And... Liger is releasing on Thursday. The buzz is that, first...
Thursday Friday and Saturday... All buyers will be safe. From Sunday...
Everyone will be in profits. That's the buzz. So the confidence and the buzz is right there.
If... People didn't come... If the movie is not good...
If this talk comes out... That's not an option to me. For me it's not an option.
People keep saying that no one will come... This is going on!
One time... We were doing the poster shoot during lockdown.
I had only one request from the world that For Liger... We never knew when Covid would stop.
Or even if it stops! What about 100% occupancy in theaters?
No one knew where the world would go and end up... During those days...
My only wish to somebody higher than me... Because it's not in my hand...
Was... for Liger release... Without covid...
Without people being sick... Without hospitalization and all...
-Should be healthy in the theaters. -Yeah. If I get 100% occupancy in the theaters...
I cam make them full is my feeling. Only this one thing is in the hands of universe and god...
Give me hundred percent occupancy... And we'll take care of the rest. That's my only wish.
It did happen... Now feeling that theatres is our job and I think it will happen. Nice. In Bollywood...
Karan Johar, Dharma productions is one of the top most productions. Top most producers. You got tied up with them.
Anyone will attempt for this tie up because...
the help of visibility in the North region
Gets better. But people here... Our people...
Telugu Andhra and in South... No matter what the content is...
This looks like bollywood... Bollywood influence is there on it... We have these comments of it not being local enough.
Can you comment on it Puri sir? They just watch a bit of it. A one minute trailer.
And they express such doubts. Watching the whole movie will take that away.
After watching the movie... It's good that it looks like bollywood or hollywood movies.
It means you are watching better visuals. But no matter the visuals and the money spent...
Those local things... Our own mass story...
As it's rooted... -So we can expect that. -Yeah, definitely. Local mass masala...
Native... This will be Liger. But you are not showing it out. Of course, it's there.
-But they still comment. -This is a 100% Telugu cinema. Which is world class quality.
This feeling is because of the songs... because we had Hindi composers
They got that feel just because of those songs...
According to the script and the story... It's our movie, our Puri's writing...
It's a Telugu cinema made for India. This is the film. When they see it they will see it.
-Nice. -This discussion will stop. These are all genuine doubts and fears people might be having. They need more content to be out.
So I understand it -It's out of love. -Yeah but...
Have no fear. -Have confidence. -Full mass masala...
-Whistles and papers. -For sure. -Everything. -For sure. 100%. Nice! Thank you.
And now me as producer as Charmi I want to express few things. Yeah...
So basically In August... Same month... In 2019. Me and Puri sir met you and narrated you this story.
The first reaction to the story... It's mental!
You saw me and with curiosity I was looking at your face... Did he like it or not!
It's mental! Let's do this! So it started there.
2020 Jan... We did our first massive schedule.
It's almost forty five days of schedule. We did it. Big chunk of the film was shot and finished.
Then March 2020 the first lockdown happened. And then the second lockdown happened and...
...it was going on and on and on. Through these tough times...
I know you You had to keep up your body.
I remember well... The lockdown is at its peaks. Vijay got irritated one day.
He's getting ready... But there's no shooting. So Vijay called me up.
Charmi, I want shooting. Where's the shooting? Dear, we are in a lockdown.
When will this end? When will it finish and when will we rock again? Get me to the shooting at any cost!
-We have to rock... -Of course, two years... Maintaining the body and his muscles...
Sitting in the room without any motivation. -Without shooting... Not a joke. -And then...
Our financial challenges as producers... As normal human beings...
Covid gave everyone financial challenges. But as producers...
It was a bit on the higher side, the challenges. but one thing I have to say that
whatever we went through Till today me and Puri sir as producers as business partners together...
Many people say many things... They say a lot of negative points to the producers.
Till we get out of bed and go back to bed... 95% we hear negative things.
It can be about us, or our movie... It can be about the status of the shooting...
It can be about you two... It can be about the past... People like negative things... Some people.
It gives them a lot of pleasure. They dig the past into the future... and scare the producers.
This fight gave me and Puri sir tears almost. Do we need this?
During lockdown, when we had no money at all... We got a huge OTT offer.
Our pockets are empty. One needs guts to reject such a huge offer.
-Puri sir gave it to us. -Hey! Truely... I'm sorry, but...
I understand your pain. You've cried a lot of times, right?
sorry no no OK
With all this happening... We have to release in covid and fifty percent occupancy.
We want to release the film only in theaters. This is a theatre film. They have to watch it in a theater. But with 50% occupancy.
They opened them up slowly. They we have no dates or there were other movies. They have to come forward.
Finally, August 25th... -The last film from the pandemic. -2022
Yes! We finally got it out. You are about to see it soon.
The entire journey, Vijay... We gave up a lot of times...
Even a strong man like Puri, for a lot of times... He was down.
Only driving factor for me and Puri sir only two things
Got us here. One is Vijay Devarakonda. You.
You... No one knows how strong Vijay was for us...
With me and Puri in every situation... Every situation... He never asked for anything.
Not even a single complaint at all. You were our most strongest driving factor.
Vijay... that we could bring Liger till her today. Trust me. And...
The content. Liger... As a content... this content got us here today.
And I really can't thank you enough, Vijay. Seriously I am...
We will rock! That's it! We'll set it on fire! We'll rock everything!
Everyone will be in the theaters... Thank you!
Not just us... Even the audience... They are ready to come to the theaters for the right stuff.
They are in the mood to celebrate. They are waiting and this is the movie for them.
Thank you thank you so much. And after Liger it's JGM. We have to rock!
Yes let's do it! -Thank you! -We are here as team Liger today...
Our movie is carrying this buzz... The whole of India is giving us love...
It all started here. In our Telugu states... With our Telugu audience...
Puri sir's and my journey... We all started here.
I said I'll shake India. That's a wrong statement. We have to shake India.
August 25th... You guys mean a lot and...
Solid cinema is about to come. Let's rock and shake it on August 25th together.
